Ellen van Dijk, born in Harmelen, the Netherlands, is a Dutch professional cyclist. She started with ice skating but now she and her team Trek-Segafredo have grown to be one of the best cyclists in the field of time riding and Ellen appears to be a 'super helper' for the team leader.
Third Olympic Games
Ellen van Dijk has participated in the Olympic Games of England and Brazil. She is now preparing for her third Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
After various medals at European Championships and World Championships, Ellen is now training for the Olympics and her wish is to win her first (gold) Olympic medal.
After a busy spring, Ellen has finished her last race before the Olympic Games. With good results during the Tour of Flanders (5th), the Tour of Drenthe (3rd) and a first place in the "Dwars door Flanders", it is now time to focus on the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Success in recent years
One of Ellen's greatest successes is the gold medal at the 2017 World Championship in Bergen, in addition she was very successful in 2018 with a gold medal at the European Championship in Glasgow, a 1st place in the Dutch Time Trial Championship and as the winner in the Omloop van het Hageland.
